Tea & Honey Pop Questions

What are honey pops? Honey pops are handcrafted honey-based hard candies made in small batches. They can be enjoyed as a treat or used to sweeten tea and other beverages. 

What flavors of honey pops do you offer? We currently offer 25 different flavors that range from fruity to floral to classic comforts.

What is the white dust on the honey pops? The white dust is just cornstarch. Since we do not use any preservatives or isomalts, the honey candy can be very sticky. The cornstarch coating helps combat that, and is such a thin layer that it does not affect the taste of the pops or whatever beverage you may decide to put them in.

Where do you get your honey? There are several local beekeepers in Dothan, Alabama, and the surrounding Wiregrass area that I buy my honey from as the base for the honey pops. 

Are your teas caffeinated? Each blend varies. Every individual tea listing shows whether it is caffeinated, and what level of caffeine. 

Do your teas contain allergens? Our blends are created using herbs, botanicals, and natural flavorings. If a blend contains a known allergen, it will be listed in the ingredients. Please review each blend carefully before purchasing.

I see "dust" in my tea. What is that? The "dust" substances are either a powdered herb in the blend, or if it's lighter in color it is vanilla bean powder, or honey powder.

Where do you get your herbs? The herbs & ingredients I use for my tea blends come from several places: Monterey Bay Herb Company, The Tumeric Tart, Essential Orgainics, and OliveNation.

Packaging & Shipping Questions:

How are honey pops packaged?

Honey pops are all individually wrapped and labeled, and packs are sent in vacuum-sealed bags for freshness. During warmer weather, it's suggested that you select the ice pack addon to help prevent any melting of the pops during transit.

How Are Your Teas Packaged?

All SeveriTea blends are packaged in food-grade containers appropriate for their size.

  • Retail sizes (1 oz–4 oz) come in gift-ready tins or sealed specialty tea pouches.
  • Larger refill sizes (8 oz, 1 lb, and bulk blends) come in food-grade zipper bags designed to be transferred into your own storage tins or jars at home.

This refill-style packaging helps minimize waste and keeps pricing accessible while maintaining product freshness and safety.

About Refill Packaging

If your order includes refill-size teas (8 oz, 1 lb, or bulk quantities), please note that these sizes come packaged in food-grade zipper bags rather than tins or printed retail pouches. This refill-style packaging helps minimize waste and keeps bulk pricing affordable for returning tea drinkers.

Your refill bags will include:

  • Full cottage-food compliant labeling (ingredients, net weight, business info)
  • Brewing instructions & honey pop pairing suggestions
  • Food-safe resealable packaging designed for you to transfer into your own storage containers at home

If you purchased a refill as a gift, or if you need gift-ready packaging for larger quantities, feel free to send a message so that we can accommodate your needs. I’m always happy to help with suggestions or upgrades.

Shipping & Food Safety Notice
SeveriTea is a Cottage Food–certified business, and all of our teas and honey pops are prepared, packaged, and handled in compliance with Alabama's cottage food regulations.

Because most of our products are consumables:

  • All food items are non-returnable and non-resellable once shipped, for the safety of all customers.
  • We cannot accept returned teas, honey pops, or any edible item, even if unopened, due to food safety laws that prohibit reselling or reusing returned consumables.
  • If you experience an issue with your order, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the item(s) received. This allows us to resolve the concern promptly while maintaining compliance with food safety regulations.

All products are packaged in food-grade materials and sealed for freshness. Larger “refill” sizes are intentionally packaged in simple, food-safe zipper bags to minimize waste and offer cost-effective bulk pricing.

We take great care in preparing and packaging each order and are committed to maintaining high-quality standards throughout the process.

Ordering & Customizations:

Can I customize a gift set or sampler? Yes! If you don't see a specific gift set or selection of options you are looking for, please reach out and I'll be happy to set up a custom bundle for you.

Can I add a gift message? Of course! You can choose a printed note or handwritten message at checkout. Include your message in the order notes. If you've forgotten this or didn't see it, send an email and I'll gladly write your gift message out for you before your order ships.

Shipping, Ice Packs, & Warm Weather:

Do you ship year-round? Yes! However, honey pops may soften or melt during extreme heat.

Can I add Ice Packs to my order? Absolutely! You can select the optional "Ice Pack ADD ON" listing. This will add a reusable ice pack to your order to help protect your honey pops during transit.

Do you guarantee no melting? We do our best to protect your treats, but weather conditions and carrier delays are outside of our control. Ice packs definitely help, but cannot guarantee zero softening or melting.

Local Pickup (Dothan, Alabama):

Do you offer local pickup? Yes! Local pickup is available by appointment.

Where do pickups take place? Pickups occur at safe, public locations. These locations do not hold stock on-site. We will meet you in person with your order after an agreed upon time has been coordinated.

Current pickup locations in Dothan, AL:

  • Starbucks near Ollie's on Ross Clark Circle
  • Barnes & Noble on Montgomery HWY

How do I choose local pickup? At checkout, select the Pickup option and choose your location. After your order is placed, you’ll receive an email to coordinate a pickup time.

Can someone else pick up my order? Yes - just let us know their name when coordinating the pickup, and make sure they have a copy of the order receipt.

Returns, Refunds, & Order Issues:

Do you accept returns? Due to the nature of consumable products, returns are not accepted for teas or honey pops. If the item is something like a mug or strainer and has not been opened or used, a return is possible.

What if something is wrong with my order? Please email us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the issue, and we’ll make it right.

Gift Cards

Do you offer gift cards? Yes! Digital gift cards are available for purchase and can be redeemed at checkout.

Do gift cards expire? No, SeveriTea gift cards never expire.

Wholesale & Events

Do you offer wholesale pricing? Yes! Email us for availability and wholesale or bulk order minimums.

Do you vend at local events? We frequently vend at markets, conventions, and community events. Follow our social media on Facebook & TikTok for updates.
